Sylvia Levine, formerly of Springfield and Longmeadow, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, in Las Vegas. She was 93 years old.
Sylvia was born to Samuel Levine and Dinah Lifschitz on November 6, 1930, in Harlem, New York, and was their treasured only child. Yiddish was her first language, and she learned English as she transitioned into Kindergarten.

An out-of-state man was busted for allegedly pretending to be a dentist and operating a dental clinic out of a hotel in Fairfield County.
Hugo Moraes-DeLima, age 41, of Boca Raton, Florida, was busted in Danbury on Sunday, April 16, at the La Quinta Hotel.
According to Erin Henry, a spokesperson for the Danbury Police, officers responded to the hotel located at 116 Newtown Road on Sunday, April 16, for reports of an occupant practicing dental work.

A 34-year-old former Revere man stole $2.5 million in federal Covid-19 relief funds, the U.S. Attorney's Office said on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Vinicius Santana, 34, of Boca Raton, Florida, was charged with wire fraud and unlawful money transactions, the federal prosecutor's office said.
