Two Injured As Vessels Collide On Long Island Sound Two people were injured when vessels collided late Thursday night on the Long Island Sound near Hart Island off the coast of Pelham Bay Park, the Coast Guard announced Friday morning. At approximately 11:15 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York command center were notified of a vessel collision between a 40-foot vessel and an 18-foot vessel with both damaged. One Dead After Boat Capsizes In Connecticut River A 64-year-old man died on Friday after a boat capsized in the Connecticut River at Haddam Meadows State Park in Haddam on Friday afternoon, state police said. The man, an unidentified Hamden resident, was pronounced dead Friday night at a local hospital, according to police. Officials from the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection were assisted at the scene by several state police units.

The incident took place around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday near Glen Island Park, said New Rochelle Police Capt. J.C. Coyne.
