Busted: Repeat Offender Got Car Loan Using Hillsdale Resident's Stolen ID, Police Charge
A repeat offender used a Hillsdale resident's stolen identification to get himself a car loan, among other expenditures, authorities said.
Taheim J. Hart, 26, of Staten Island was arrested in Newark this past January for using a driver's license bearing the victim's name and information, Hillsdale Police Sgt. Travis Woods said.
Hillsdale detectives investigating the theft of the resident's identity tied Hart to the car loan, obtained in North Carolina, among other expenses, the sergeant said.
A warrant was issued for Hart, who was arrested in New York for a probation violation, Woods said.…

A pair of heartless thieves from Pennsylvania stole 19 catalytic converters from a lot off Route 17 packed with vehicles used to help seniors, the disabled and frail Bergen County residents get around, authorities said.
Detectives grabbed one of them – identified as Noe Gabriel Hernandez, 24, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

A Paterson ex-con was busted with 5,600 Oxycodone pills, an ounce of cocaine and a pound and a half of concentrated pot, authorities announced Tuesday.
City detectives nabbed Niair Lane, 27, with the drugs -- worth more than $115,000 -- on June 7, Officer in Charge Isa Abbassi announced on June 20.
He was carrying 100 pills, and the rest was found at a residence on Chadwick Street, Abbassi said.

Moonachie Police Chief Richard Behrens said Officers Matthew Veltri and Frank Tamargo stopped Damian Roscoe Brooks, 39, of Elkton, for driving recklessly on eastbound Route 46 in Teterboro, NJ, which is 17 miles outside of Manhattan.

Police: Maywood Dealer Who Ran Drug Factory Released, Starts Selling Again
An accused dealer was quickly back in business after being released pending trial for running a cocaine factory from his Maywood apartment, authorities said Saturday.
New Jersey State Police originally raided the East Central Avenue apartment of Jabian Ortiz in August after learning that both they and Maywood detectives were investigating him.
The raid turned up nearly half-pound of cocaine, some pot, drug-packaging materials and $23,000 in alleged proceeds, they said at the time.

An accused porch pirate who Bergenfield police caught in the act went right back to the same neighborhood and began casing vehicles for burglaries hours after being released, authorities said.
Police responding to a call of someone swiping packages from a Hillside Avenue porch discovered thefts from three other homes, as well, Detective Lt. William Duran said Friday.
