Nassau County police officers yanked an 80-year-old woman from her car and tossed her to the ground, then claimed she attacked them and filed criminal charges, according to a federal lawsuit.
Betty Cater, now 81, filed the suit Friday, March 20 in New York’s Eastern District. The criminal charges against her were later dropped.

Officers responded to 291 Liberty St., Apt. 52 on Monday, March 16 for a reported assault and learned the victim had been attacked by her ex daughter-in-law, Jieon Ha, who fled the scene before police arrived, according to Little Ferry Police Chief James Walters.
