3 Firefighters Suffer Heat Exhaustion At Shippensburg Fire: Authorities Three firefighters suffered heat exhaustion while battling a blaze at a storage unit in Southampton Township, authorities say.  The fire broke out at South Mountain Storage located at 767 Walnut Bottom Road in Shippensburg around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, according to emergency dispatchers. Multiple companies worked to knock down the blaze until 3 p.m., according to fire officials. The estimated cost of the damage is $200,000, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities say.  All three firefighters have been released.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 200 block of East Philadelphia Street on Saturday around 4:13 p.m. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries, according to officials. The extent of their injuries and current condition is unknown. Five of the seven apartments in the building are no longer inhabitable and have approximately $300,000 in damages.
