Support is on the rise for a Virginia and Maryland firefighter who was in a crash on his way to work.
Christian Bomgardner was flown to a nearby hospital with serious injuries in the crash on Monday, March 25, John Wright, President-Emeritus of the Frederick County, Virginia Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 4145, said on a GoFundMe.
Bomgardner went into emergency surgery to stabilize his injuries and remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition, Wright said.

A Pennsylvania fire department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
West Whiteland firefighter Colin Reedy, 25, was responding to a call with firefighter Emily Gindele, during heavy downpours on Friday, Oct. 20, when their vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, the department said.
The incident happened around 9 p.m., on Pottstown Pike in Uwchlan Township, 6abc reports.
Reedy, of Exton and Coatesville, was pronounced dead at the scene while Gindele, a 24-year-old probationary firefighter, remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition, at Paoli Memorial Hospital.…

A volunteer firefighter and fire chief died in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday, according to Pennsylvania state police and his fire house.
State police were called to the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle on Nov. 12 just before 4 p.m., according to a release by police.
