Hours after a 4.8 magnitude earthquake rattled the northeast, several states are once again feeling the earth move in what appears to be an aftershock. Just after 6 p.m. on Friday, April 5, the tremors of a 4.0 magnitude earthquake — an aftershock from an earlier 4.8 quake originating in New Jersey — could be felt across the Northeast. Small Earthquake Shakes South Jersey
A small earthquake rattled parts of South Jersey Wednesday morning, authorities said. The tiny temblor was a 2.4 magnitude quake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Numerous 9-1-1 calls from people who felt the earthquake came into Ocean County police agencies starting at 7:52 a.m., initial reports said. The earthquake was centered about two miles south of Tuckerton and 15 miles from Atlantic City, reports said. The light tremors caused minimal damage and no reported injuries, the USGS said.

A small earthquake rattled parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania early Thursday morning. The 2.1 magnitude quake happened just before 7 a.m. in Milford, New Jersey, the U.S. Geological Survey says. The slight quake was felt throughout parts of Hunterdon County, NJ, along with Bucks and Northampton counties, PA. In August, a smaller earthquake was reported in the same area.
