I-78 Tractor-Trailer Crash: Flipped Truck Reroutes Traffic
Update: The ramp has since reopened, troopers said. Crews are at the scene of an accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer on Wednesday, April 3, according to troopers. Troop M's Nathan Branosky said the truck flipped on the ramp from Route 33 southbound to Interstate 78 eastbound in Lower Saucon. Drivers on Route 33 south are being detoured onto I-78's westbound lanes, state police said. The ramp was still closed while first responders worked the scene around noon, Branosky said.

I-78 Crash: Multi-Vehicle Accident In Northampton County
Multiple cars were involved in a wreck on Interstate 78 near Hellertown on Friday afternoon, Feb. 16, according to PennDOT. It happened between Exit 67 to Hellertown/Bethlehem and Exit 60B to South 4th Street, the department said. A lane restriction is in effect as of 2:50 p.m., officials said. It's not yet clear if anyone was injured.

Caden Hummel, 19, was headed east in Greenwich Township when he lost control of his Honda Civic and hit the concrete median on Tuesday morning, Jan. 30, according to a state police report. The driver who died on Route 33 in Bethlehem Township on Wednesday night, Nov. 8, was 40-year-old Surmaliz Valentin Ramos, authorities say. Ramos, of Hellertown, was driving a 2014 Toyota Scion when she crashed along Route 33 between Interstate 78 and the exit to Freemansburg Avenue at mile marker 1.4 around 7:15 p.m., state police told Daily Voice. A driver died after losing control of their car and hitting a guard rail early on Monday, Aug. 14, Pennsylvania State Police detailed in a release. A 22-year-old Virginia man was killed in a tractor-trailer crash on a Pennsylvania highway over the weekend, authorities said. Evan Dennison, of Berryville, was driving a vehicle that struck the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township, on Sunday, July 23, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. An eastern Pennsylvania community is mourning the loss of a beloved Dunkin' worker. Rachel Cox, 16, died suddenly on Jan. 15 at St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital, according to her obituary. A tractor trailer crash snarled traffic Monday afternoon on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie. The crash occurred on the westbound side around 12:30 p.m. near mile marker 51.6, according to Pennsylvania State Police. It was unclear if any injuries were reported. All lanes were closed as of 4 p.m.
