A longtime police officer in the Philadelphia suburbs who beat cancer was killed in an off-duty bicycle accident, authorities said.
Cpl. Brian Kozera, a 16-year veteran of the Norristown Police Department, died Saturday, Aug. 13, after being hit by a vehicle while training for the Ironman World Championship, according to police and loved ones.

Lambertville Artist, Beloved Dad Seriously Hurt After Being Hit By Truck While Cycling
Community support is surging for a Lambertville artist and beloved father of two who was seriously hurt after being struck by a pickup truck while cycling.
Myles Cavanaugh, a 47-year-old contemporary artist, cyclist and father of two, was struck by a pickup truck during a bike ride on Oct. 19, according to a GoFundMe launched for his ongoing expenses.
Cavanaugh suffered serious injuries in the accident, according to the campaign, created by Colette Sexton, who describes the father as a “good friend, fellow artist and cycling buddy.”

Wissahickon High School Grad Ian M. Brooks Dies, 33
Ian M. Brooks of Brooklyn, NY, formerly of Gwynedd Valley, PA died Feb. 28, 2021. He was 33 years old.
Born in Doylestown, PA, Brooks worked as an Architect for Hill West Architects in New York City up until his death, his obituary says.
He graduated from Wissahickon High School in 2006, the University of Pittsburgh, and the City College of New York where he earned his Master’s Degree in Architecture, his obit says.
Brooks' obituary remembered him as "an athletically gifted skier, wakeboarder and cyclist."
