Puppy Placed In Garbage Bag, Thrown Down Hill In Berks County State police are investigating after witnesses in Berks County saw a man throw a puppy in a trash bag over a hill.  It happened on Eisenhauer Drive in Alsace Township around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, according to an incident report by troopers. The puppy was recovered from the bag and turned over to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County for treatment, police said.  ARL spokesman José Joel Delgado-Rivera told Daily Voice the dog is now in stable condition and said she is about three to four months old.  The suspect is described by state police as a roughly 6-foot…

Dental Records Identify Fatal Berks Fire Victim Officials in Berks County have identified the woman killed in a house fire in Alsace Township on Wednesday, Jan. 25.  First responders were called to the 100 block of Magnolia Lane just after 4:30 a.m. and found "heavy fire" on arrival, according to a statement by State Police. A woman was found dead inside, authorities said at the time.  The victim is now identified as 71-year-old Dana Oakes, who lived at the residence. Lehigh Valley Man, 31, Killed In Head-On Motorcycle Crash A 31-year-old man was killed in a head-on motorcycle crash in Berks County Saturday night, authorities said. Elvis Colon-Ramirez, of Allentown, crossed his motorcycle over to the oncoming path of a car on Mount Laurel Street in Alsace Township and hit a Volkswagen Jetta near Delp Road shortly after 6:05 p.m., LehighValleyLive reports citing state police. Colon-Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene, though he had been wearing a helmet, the report said.
