27-Year-Old Killed In Northeast Philadelphia Motorcycle Crash: Officials

A 27-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash in Philadelphia's Somerton neighborhood on Sunday night, July 7, according to city police.

The rider of a blue Suzuki motorcycle was headed north on Bustleton Avenue when he ran through a red light at Tomlinson Road, said crash investigators in a release. At about 10:20 p.m., he collided with a westbound Lexus and both drivers were taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital.

The 27-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital while the 50-year-old driver fo the Lexus was listed in critical condition, authorities said.

An investigation is ongoing.
