'We'll Never Forget This': Record-Breaking Perch Caught In Chester County
A 19-year-old from Berks County set a new state record when he caught a 2-pound, 1-ounce white perch in the Delaware River. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission said Christopher Barrett's catch topped the previous state record for white perch, set in 2008. Barrett and his dad Craig, both of Mohnton, set out in a 20-foot center console fishing boat from the Ridley Township Municipal Marina on April 14 and headed up the river, officials said in a release. Alligator Escaped Into PA Creek During Flash Floods, Owner Says
An alligator recovered from a creek in Exeter Township has been returned to its owner, who says the reptile escaped during the flash floods last month. The Animal Rescue League of Berks County was called to Antietam Creek on Wednesday, Aug. 1 after landscaping staff discovered the gator, the organization told Daily Voice. PA Man Strangled By Pet Snake Shot By Police Dies Days Later
A Pennsylvania man who was strangled by his pet snake has died days after the incident, authorities said. Elliot Senseman, 27, died from anoxic brain injury due to asphyxiation by constriction after an 18-foot Boa constrictor-type snake wrapped itself around the man's neck inside his Church Street home in Fogelsville (Upper Macungie Township) on Wednesday, July 20, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Cops Shoot, Kill 15-Foot Snake Wrapped Around PA Man's Neck, Police Say
Authorities in Pennsylvania had to shoot and kill a 15-foot snake that was wrapped around a Lehigh County man's neck in order to free him, they said. Cops responding to a report of a cardiac arrest found an unresponsive 28-year-old man lying on the floor of a home on the 1400 block of Church Street in Fogelsville with a snake wrapped around his neck around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, Upper Macungie police said.
