Lackawanna County Man Is 2nd Victim Killed By Home Explosion: Coroner A second victim has died from injuries following a home explosion in Lackawanna County, authorities said. Leon W. Gruss, 91, of Jefferson Township, was pronounced dead on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 12:38 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. The cause of death is 51% burns to the body due to the explosion and house fire, Buglio said. PA 911 Operator, Kaitlynn Beatty, 20, Killed In Crash: State Police A three-vehicle crash has left a 911 operator dead, authorities explained in the days following her sudden passing.  Kaitlynn Elizabeth Beatty, 20 of Irwin, was killed in a three-vehicle crash along Glades Pike/Route 31, west of Tree Army Road in Jefferson Township on Jan. 30, as detailed in the Pennsylvania State Police report.  Kaitlynn died at the scene, PSP Trooper Christopher Allen Explained. Berks Driver May Face Homicide Charge For Deadly Crash A driver in Berks County may be charged with vehicular homicide after authorities say he caused an accident by illegally passing another car.  Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the scene of a three-car accident on Shartlesville Road near the intersection with Lonesome Valley Road in Jefferson Township just after 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 6, troopers said in a release.  One driver was found trapped and unresponsive in his car.
