16-Year-Old Shot, Killed In Philadelphia: Investigators

One teen is dead and another hospitalized after gunfire rang out in Germantown on Wednesday night, March 27, according to Philadelphia police.

Authorities said it happened near the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Wister Street around 6:45 p.m. 

A 16-year-old boy was struck once in the right upper back and pronounced dead minutes later at Einstein Hospital, police said. A 17-year-old boy was struck in the right hip and hospitalized in stable condition.

Chief Inspector Scott Small told 6abc that a stray bullet passed through a car window and grazed the shirt of a 55-year-old man. He was not injured, Small said. 

No arrests were made at the scene and no weapons were recovered, PPD added.
