Eleven members of a suspected drug trafficking organization are in custody, federal authorities say. The group, allegedly headed by 30-year-old Wilfredo Avila, is accused of running "significant quantities" of fentanyl and cocaine throughout Philadelphia's Kensington and Fairhill sections from February 2023 through this month. A "juvenile" faces weapons charges after leading police on a chase through Reading on Wednesday, Feb. 27, according to authorities. RPD said they pursued a car that fled from a traffic stop on the 400 block of North 3rd Street. Eventually, the driver bailed and fled on foot, the department said. Chester police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old woman as a homicide. A New York man convicted of robbing a Monroe County bank last September will spend five years in prison, authorities have announced. Federal officials say Michael Muse, 44, of Brooklyn, walked into the ESSA Bank on Milford Road in Middle Smithfield Township on Sept. 16, 2021 and stole about $9,000 at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.
