Body Found In Garage After Fire, Philadelphia Police Say One person is dead after a garage caught fire in southwest Philadelphia early on Thursday, March 21, authorities say. Police and firefighters were called to the 7600 block of Este Avenue in the city's Eastwick neighborhood just before 1:30 a.m., PPD said. After the flames were extinguished firefighters found the victim's body inside the garage, according to police.  They were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials did not report their name.  The Fire Marshal is investigating, police added.

Resident Rescued From Burning Home In Philadelphia, Authorities Say One person was pulled from their burning West Philadelphia home and treated for injuries early on Tuesday, Aug. 1, according to authorities.  It happened near the corner of North 57th and Harmer streets around 6 a.m., the Fire Department confirmed to Daily Voice.  The resident was rescued, evaluated at the scene by first responders, and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, PFD said. His condition as of Tuesday afternoon was not clear.  The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Fire Marshal, a department spokesperson added.

Firefighters responded to the 600 Block of Markham Street to find that the blaze had spread to the second floor and left a person trapped, according to Garden City Fire Company. Fire crews were able to knock down the bulk of the fire while local police freed the trapped person, authorities said.
