PA Parents Sentenced: 'Treated Animals Better' Than 7 Children, Judge Says
A father and mother who forced their seven children to live in filthy conditions in a rundown trailer in Bucks County were sentenced to up to 16 years in Pennsylvania State Prison on child neglect charges, authorities said.
Shane Robertson, 48, and Crystal Robertson, 38, of West Rockhill Township, appeared Tuesday, Aug. 20 before Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller, who called them “two of the worst parents I’ve ever seen in my life.”

23 Animals Found Neglected, Malnourished In Pennsylvania Home: Troopers (Photos)
Twenty-three animals living in “severe neglect” were removed from a Coaldale home on Monday, May 20, state police said in a release.
Charges are pending against the 69-year-old homeowner, according to troopers.
Investigators said the animals — including 17 dogs, two cats, two birds, and one turtle — were found “in a state of severe neglect, showing signs of malnutrition, untreated medical conditions, and poor living conditions.”

Chesco Kennel Owner Neglected Dog, Jury Finds
The proprietor of a Chester County pet kennel neglected a dog in her care, resulting in his death, a jury has found.
Denise Durfor, owner of Pleasant Pet Resort in East Nottingham Township, was convicted of animal neglect, the Chester County District Attorney's Office announced Friday, Jan. 27.
The charges stem from the death of Roscoe, a Pekinese in Durfor's care. The animal sustained fatal injuries during his stay at the resort, the DA's Office said.
