MD/PA Bank Robber Indicted Secord Robbery Spree Months After Release: Usdoj
A man who recently completed his sentence following a plea deal with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for six armed robberies — was indicted on March 20 following a second robbery spree of five more businesses, Palmyra police announced on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Mark Shane Herrick, now 47, of Hanover, was first arrested by the FBI in 2009 for robbing the following businesses while armed with a tire iron or crowbar:

Six PA Lotto Winners To Split Prize
Six Pennsylvanians picked the five winning numbers in the Tuesday, Jan. 16 drawing for the "Treasure Hunt" game, according to Lottery officials.

PA Murder Suspect Captured During Connecticut Bank Robbery: Police
The prime suspect in a 2020 Luzerne County homicide was arrested this week while robbing a bank in Connecticut, according to state police.
Giovanni Morales Jr., 27, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested in Hartford on Monday, Nov. 13, authorities said.
He was previously charged with the June 26, 2020 killing of Jonathan Hernandez in West Hazleton, troopers said.
Morales had come to the area days before the slaying to stay with Hernandez, and the pair were seen by witnesses working together on construction sites, the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader has reported.

Dozens Nabbed In PA Child Porn Sting, 'Operation Safe Screen': State Police
Twenty-six Pennsylvanians face criminal charges after state police wrapped up a months-long investigation on child sex abuse imagery.
"Operation: Safe Screen," said troopers in a release on Tuesday, July 18, involved chatting with suspect predators online, locating possessors of child pornography, and tracking down registered offenders who have fallen out of compliance.
The operation ran from April through June and led to the arrests of 22 adults and four juveniles in twelve counties, state police said.

PA's David's Bridal Laying Off 9,200 Employees Amid Bankruptcy Filing
Montgomery County's own David's Bridal will send more than 9,000 workers home in an upcoming round of layoffs, according to a disclosure form it filed with the state Department of Labor and Industry.
The Conshohocken-based wedding retailer expects to lay off 9,236 employees nationwide in a three-phase plan that began on Friday, April 14, according to the state website.

Ten Killed In Pennsylvania Fire Identified
Three children and seven adults died in a fire that destroyed a two-story home in Luzerne County, PA on Friday, Aug. 5, authorities said.
The blaze broke out on the 700 block of First Street in Nescopeck around 2:40 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police said. Ten people died fire while three adults were able to escape, police said.

A Pennsylvania court constable is accused of purchasing weapons— including straw purchasing 22 guns— for a convicted felony, Attorney General Josh Shapiro. says.
