'Armed, Dangerous' Fugitive Wanted For Shooting GF In Texas Captured At GWB
An armed fugitive who fled Texas to New York City after shooting his girlfriend was captured by Bergen County detectives at the entrance to the lower level of the George Washington Bridge, authorities said.
Dwayne Kevin Sharlow, 55, was swiftly scooped up by Narcotic Task Force members who stopped his rented car at 1:52 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella confirmed Monday.
They were assisted by a Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, he said.
Sharlow, of Prosper, TX, had apparently come up Route 95, headed for New York City, authorities said.

Philly Ride-Share Driver Busted In NJ, Detectives Seize 4,650 Heroin Folds
A rideshare driver from Philadelphia was nabbed with 4,650 heroin folds during a Bergen County traffic stop, authorities said.
Marvin Taveras-Taveras, 30, was arrested in Ridgefield Park by Narcotic Task Force detectives who suspected he was transporting bulk amounts of drugs through the area, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Taveras-Taveras had 93 bricks of heroin in the vehicle, Musella said.
The Dominican national was charged with having heroin for sale and sent to the Bergen County Jail following his arrest last Thursday, June 16, the prosecutor said Monday.

A Lyndhurst man was charged with two counts of attempted murder for firing a flamethrower at SWAT team members during a 21-hour standoff.

UPDATE: A Paterson gang member now charged with killing a Leonia woman in the garden apartment she shared with her daughter ran out when he heard the girl wake up, then circled back as if he was just arriving, investigators said.
Nile Diakos, 35, was recorded on phone calls and in texts admitting that he killed Alicia Arnone by stabbing her in the neck and chest last Saturday, March 26, according to court papers.
