A city police officer fired their service weapon at a suspect in North Philadelphia on Monday afternoon, according to Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore. Officers were called to the 1000 block of West Dakota Street around 2:45 p.m. after a stolen car was spotted parked on the street, Vanore told reporters Monday evening. Investigators are searching for the gunman who stole a vehicle in Southwest Philadelphia early Monday, April 8, city police say. The suspect had a black handgun when he carjacked a victim on the 7200 block of Woodland Avenue around 2:25 a.m., authorities said in a release.
