Child Found Dead In Duffel Bag In Mantua: Philly PD

Police are investigating after a young child was found dead in a duffel bag in Philadelphia on Monday morning, March 18.

The child was found on the 600 block of N. 38th Street in the Mantua section of West Philly, according to the department. Police said it was discovered by someone doing work behind a property on the block. 

The child has not yet been identified and their gender is unknown, police said. The remains are "severely decomposed," they added. 

6abc reports that the child is thought to be between 2 and 4 years old.
