Poconos Man Shot Dead In Armed Standoff With PA State Police A 59-year-old man was shot dead by state police during an hours-long armed standoff in the Poconos, authorities said. Keith Carroll was shot and killed by troopers after he walked out of his Jackson Township home armed with a handgun Thursday, June 23, Pennsylvania State Police said.
