Fire At Central PA High School Woodshop Forces Classes Online For Days A fire at a high school wood shop forced the district to switch to online or remote learning for a minimum of two days, officials announced on Tuesday morning.  Intially fire crews were called to Maheim Tonwship High School for a report of smoke showing at 5:18 p.m. on Monday, April 1, officials explained.  The fire was found fire in a dust collector on the exterior of the high school off the wood shop.  Even though the "fire was contained to the exterior, however the interior required extensive ventilation. On-Duty Firefighter At Crash Struck Dead By Teen Driver In Pennsylvania A 66-year-old firefighter was struck dead by a car driven by a teenager while on duty in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Dec. 6, authorities say. Kurt Keilhofer was on the scene of a separate crash as a first responder with the Mapleton Fire Department when he was hit by the 19-year-old's vehicle in the area of Hares Valley Road and Dell Lane in Union Township, around 7:30 a.m., according to Pennsylvania state police. Clay Township Fire Chief, Donald E. Moyer, 52, of the 500 block of Hopeland Road, Stevens, PA, supposedly touched "the buttocks and back lower torso and pubic region," of the teenager following a training session at the fire station on June, 14, according to the police release. Moyer had "asked the junior firefighter to join him in a secluded area between parked fire apparatus and used his hand to caress the buttocks of the victim," as stated in the release. …

The man had jumped into the river from the Market Street bridge, bringing Box 9 to the scene with mutual aid boats, the fire department said. The victim was brought to City Island and turned over to Life Team EMS. The "A" Platoon at work with Battalion 6(Bradford), fire officials said.
