Coroner IDs Reading Man Killed In Route 183 Crash
Officials have named the driver who died after a crash near Bernville on Thursday morning, May 30. Daniel R. Schneider, 28, was headed south on the 6400 block of Bernville Road/Route 183 in Penn Township around 4:15 a.m., according to state police and the Berks Coroner's Office. Schneider's Chrysler 300 crossed into the northbound lane and hit a Toyota Highlander head-on, troopers said. A Norristown woman is in police custody after authorities say she caused a crash that killed one person and injured six more while street racing through the middle of the city. Twenty-year-old Ashley Jones is charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, and related counts, said the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, June 26, prosecutors said. A 60-year-old man was beaten to death while being robbed of his car in Philadelphia's Northern Liberties neighborhood late on Thursday, Aug. 17, city police told Daily Voice. It happened along the 300 block of Cambridge Street just before 10 p.m., the department said.
