Gas Leak Shutters Penn Square In Lancaster: Police (

)
A gas leak closed Penn Square in Lancaster on Friday, July 7, 2023. All vehicle traffic at Penn Square was diverted north onto Queen Street, according to a post by the Lancaster Bureau of Police. The leak appears to have involved a boiler in the area of East King and North Duke streets in the City, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. "No foot traffic (was) allowed in 100 Block East King," police said. UGI has cleared the scene, according to the police and dispatch.

Can't Dim The Light In Lancaster: Hundreds Show Up For Menorah Lighting After Vandalism
The bright lights of Hanukkah were not dimmed this year in Lancaster despite apparent efforts by some to do so. Hundreds of people turned out Sunday night in support of Lancaster's Jewish community after the menorah in the downtown district was vandalized. Designed by Mark Joshua Lewin, the custom built, steel menorah weighs nearly 460 pounds and was placed in Penn Square on Friday, Nov. 26, according to Lancaster Online and the Lancaster City Alliance.
