Eric Dickerson was stabbed three times and survived, but his close friend was stabbed in the neck and died at the scene, according to a GoFundMe.

Dickerson and the third stabbing victim were taken to Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, DE, where they were treated and released, authorities in Chester County said.

Dickerson's family is now responsible for covering his medical care and therapy costs as he begins his recovery.

"Erica, his mother, is devastated along with her son and this is a troubling and trying time for both mother and son who have to endure medical bills and therapy for Eric and a number of costs after this incident has derailed their family," Chanel Donyell, a close family friend, wrote on the fundraiser.

"No parent wants to get that awful call that their child almost died while in school getting an education. It's just too much of a burden to bear," she added.

The campaign had raised upward of $2,200 from over 100 donors as of Friday, Feb. 18.

Authorities have not publicly identified the victims, nor have any arrests or charges been announced.

The stabbing remains under investigation by the Chester County District Attorney's Office.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Chester County Detective John DiBattista at 610-344-6824 or Lincoln University Public Safety at 484-365-7211.
