Community members and loved ones have raised thousands for a Philadelphia mom badly injured in a hit-and-run on Wednesday, April 24. Darlene Wilson was walking home from work in University City around 3:45 p.m. when she was struck twice by a driver who fled the scene, her daughter Leeloni Velazquez-Butler wrote on GoFundMe. Daily Voice has reached out to city police for more information on the accident. The pedestrian killed in a West Philadelphia crash on Wednesday, April 24 was 55-year-old Jonathan Mack, according to city police. Authorities said Mack was crossing the 3600 block of Spruce Street when he was struck by a Buick Enclave around 5:30 a.m. The driver left the scene while Mack was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he died, police said. A firefighter in Philadelphia had their foot run over while trying to stop a driver from fleeing a crash early Monday morning, April 8, according to city police. Authorities said the driver crashed into five parked cars on the 4700 block of Osage Avenue around 1:45 a.m. He ran over the firefighter's foot and then crashed into the side of a firetruck, authorities said.
