Covid-19: First Case Of Omicron Variant Reported In New Jersey The first case of the new COVID-19 variant has been detected in New Jersey, state officials announced Friday. The woman, who is a fully vaccinated Georgia resident, had recently traveled to South Africa, Governor Phil Murphy and New Jersey Department of Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli said in a joint statement. More Cases, Another Death Reported In NJ Legionnaires' Outbreak Five more people have contracted Legionnaires’ disease in Mercer County, and there has been a third fatality since the outbreak began last summer, authorities said. A total of nine cases of the disease -- a type of pneumonia caused by Legionella bacteria -- are under investigation by the New Jersey Department of Health.  Hamilton Township initially announced that there were four cases of Legionnaires' a year ago, NJ Advance Media reported. “There is concern that Legionella may be present in other buildings and homes in the area,” Hamilton and state officials said in a statement.&…
