Air Quality Alert Issued Across Bucks County An air quality alert has been issued for several areas across New Jersey and Pennsylvania  through late Friday, June 14. The most serious alert, an Air Quality Action Day, has been issued from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. across Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, and Union counties. An Air Quality Action Day means that Ground Level Ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. What Newly Signed Tax Bill Means For Atlantic City Casinos State legislation giving tax breaks to Atlantic City casinos was signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy on Tuesday night. The bill does not affect state taxes that casinos must pay on internet gambling, online sports betting revenue or in-person casino gambling. Those taxes range from 9 to 15 percent annually. Outgoing state Senate President Stephen Sweeney, a Democrat from Gloucester who sponsored the bill, said up to four of the city’s nine casinos might close without the new legislation, NJ Advance Media  reported. Water Rescues Reported In South Jersey As the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings for parts of Central and South Jersey, several water rescues were reported in Camden County. About 2:30 p.m. Thursday, first responders in Camden were called to Delaware Avenue and Cooper Street to assist "numerous cars in the water,'' according to initial reports. An unconfirmed report said that there was an infant in one of the vehicles, which required a "high water rescue." No other details were immediately available.
