Rain Will Delay Repairs To Palmer Twp. Sinkhole, PennDOT Says The Main Street sinkhole in Palmer Township is expected to be repaired by next week, according to transportation authorities.  Officials had previously hoped to patch the hole by Friday, March 29, but "inclement weather has extended the timeline," a PennDOT spokesperson said Thursday.  "Crews continue to pour concrete into the sinkhole," said district press officer Ron Young. "After the concrete is poured, they will place aggregate to make it level with the road in preparation for paving." Victim ID'd In Deadly Palmer Twp. Crash The Northampton County Coroner's Office has named the 77-year-old woman who died in a Palmer Township crash on Thursday, March 21.  Linda J. Koy of Williams Township died from blunt force injuries, said Coroner Zachary Lysek in a release. The manner of death was accidental.  The crash happened near the intersection of Van Buren and Lower Way roads, police said Thursday. Van Buren Road was shut down while crews worked the scene.  Koy was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus where she died from her injuries, the Coroner's Office said.

Police Investigating Palmer Township Crash Authorities are responding to a car accident in Palmer Township on Wednesday afternoon, March 20.  Drivers should avoid the area of Van Buren and Lower Way roads, township police said around 3:30 p.m. Officers and firefighters are at the scene.  Authorities did not say if anyone was hurt.  Van Buren Road is temporarily closed, they added.

Ex-PA Police Chief Pretended To Be Back On Force While Pulling Over Driver: Authorities An ex-police chief in Northampton County who resigned just before facing misconduct charges last fall tried to pull over a driver and pretend he was still an officer, according to authorities.  Eric K. Schwab, who resigned his leadership post in the Stockertown Borough Police Department in September citing a thumb injury, is charged with impersonating a public servant, said Palmer Township police in a release.
