Pennsylvania State Police were called to a UGI substation on Hersheypark Drive after a "suspicious item" was found on Thursday morning. Derry Township Police were called to the substation first around 11:17 a.m. on March, 14. A girl is in the Lehigh Valley Burn Unit and her dad has died following a fire in the apartment building attached to the Bausman Post Office in Lancaster Township on Tuesday, Feb. 13, fire officials announced later that day. Several buildings have been evacuated due to a gas leak in Lancaster County on Thursday. The leak was first reported as a "fire incident" by Columbia Borough police around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. The public was urged to avoid S 2nd and Union streets in the borough, but additional information was not immediately shared. The deadly explosion at the RM Palmer chocolate factory in West Reading was the result of a fracture in an old natural gas pipe, according to a new report from the National Transportation Safety Board. A gas leak closed Penn Square in Lancaster on Friday, July 7, 2023. All vehicle traffic at Penn Square was diverted north onto Queen Street, according to a post by the Lancaster Bureau of Police. The leak appears to have involved a boiler in the area of East King and North Duke streets in the City, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. "No foot traffic (was) allowed in 100 Block East King," police said. UGI has cleared the scene, according to the police and dispatch.
