Eight Suspects Arrested In Berks County Human Trafficking Sting: DA
The Berks County District Attorney's Office reports eight arrests following a two-day human trafficking sting operation, officials announced. On Monday and Tuesday, March 13 and 14, the DA's Human Trafficking Task Force seeded advertisements across "websites commonly used for sex trade," offering "sexual relations with minors at a predetermined location in Berks County," prosecutors said in a release. Lititz Sex Offender Who Sent Nudes To Undercover FBI Agent Learns His Fate
Two undercover agents caught a central Pennsylvania man using the social media app Kik to make child pornography, according to the Lancaster County district attorney's office. The sting operation began after the Lancaster County Human Trafficking Task Force received a tip from the FBI that Sean Deemer, 54, of the 500 block of Golden Street, Lititz,'s IP address was linked to child porn and grooming on the app on May 3. A New Jersey attorney who lives in Pennsylvania was arrested by federal agents after he submitted a false visa application for a client who turned out to be a government informant, authorities said. Steven G. Thomas, 52, of New Hope, PA had been encouraging clients to apply for asylum under false pretenses, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip R. Sellinger said on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
