1 Dead In Mid-Day Philadelphia Crash, Driver Detained: Police Police in Philadelphia are investigating a deadly mid-day crash that happened Sunday, April 21. A red Nissan Pathfinder lost control and struck a tree in the left median on the 400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard N around 12:30 p.m., city police said. Two juveniles, the driver and a passenger, were taken to St. Christopher Hospital by Medic 29. The rear passenger was declared dead at the scene by Medic 29 at 12:54 p.m., police said. The driver was detained for investigation.

11-Year-Old Girl On Playground Shot, No Suspect, Philadelphia Police Say An 11-year-old girl was shot in her abdomen while at a playground in Philadelphia, authorities say. The girl was shot in the 3600 block of North 11th Street near Erie Avenue at 6:57 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, Philadelphia Police told Daily Voice.  The 11-year-old was hit in the right abdomen and taken by her family to Temple Hospital, the police explained. After she was stabilized, she was transferred to St. Christopher Hospital.  No suspects have been identified, no arrests have been made, and no weapons were recovered, the police said.
