Swimmer Drowns In Schuylkill River In Reading, Officials Say One person died while swimming near Reading's Riverfront Park on Saturday, June 29, according to city officials.  Reading firefighters said the male victim was seen going into the water near "Penske Beach" and never came back out. Reading Shooting Victim Was Father Of Six, Loved Ones Say Ellis Garman Sr., a Reading husband and father of six, was shot and killed in his car on Friday, June 21, city police said. He was 44.  Garman's suspected killer, 32-year-old Vincent Sanchez, is currently sought by police on an arrest warrant.  Born in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Gene Garman and Jean (Kohl) Miley, Garman was the husband of Amaryllis N.
