Obituary For Coatesville Native, Reading Dad, Ricardo Ralat A father of six died on Christmas after a five-year-long battle against cancer, according to his family. Ricardo "Kiko" or "Ricky" Ralat Jr. "passed unexpectedly on Christmas morning from cancer," his wife's coworker Elijah Pokrop wrote on a GoFundMe campaign he launched to give Kiko a "proper burial in such unexpected times." Reading Student Hit By Car Near High School, Police Say A 14-year-old student was hit by a car while walking to Reading High School on Thursday morning, Sept. 28, police told Daily Voice.  The student, a girl, was crossing the street at the same time a car was turning, RPD said.  Her injuries were non-life-threatening and she was treated at a nearby hospital, police added.  The driver stayed on-scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Reading High Schooler Knocked Out, Robbed: Report A student at Reading High School was beaten unconscious during an apparent robbery in a school hallway, WFMZ reports.  The assault, which Reading police say was caught on video, occurred Wednesday, Jan. 18, per the report.  The clip shows six male students approach the victim before knocking him to the ground, WFMZ wrote. They continued to kick the victim's head and body before taking his shoes and cell phone and leaving the area, authorities told the outlet.  The student, whose name and age have not been reported, was rushed to Reading Hospital in an unknown condition.…

Amy Freytiz, of Shillington, was traveling at a high rate of speed in the southbound lanes when she rear-ended the tractor-trailer near mile marker 42 around 2 a.m., police say. Freytiz’s car caught fire upon impact, and she died at the scene, according to the Lancaster County coroner’s office.
