Penn State Lion Loses Ear To Vandals Officials Say Vandals broken into Penn State’s Nittany Lion Shrine on Sunday, May 8, and causing some serious damage, officials with the university say. The lion’s ear was broken off and red paint was splashed all over the shrine, according to a release by the school. The site has been fenced off and closed to all graduation photos.
