Man From Stroudsburg Convicted For Torturing Estonian In Iraq: FBI
A US Army veteran from Stroudsburg will spend the next 70 years in prison for torturing an employee at his illegal weapons facility in Iraq, according to the FBI. Federal investigators said Ross Roggio directed Kurdish soldiers to kidnap the victim, his own employee, and hold him hostage at a military installation for 39 days. The employee, an Estonian national, planned to blow the whistle on the illegal activities going on at Roggio's facility in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, according to authorities. A 28-year-old man from Philadelphia tossed a handgun as he fled from police after an alleged drug deal in Atlantic City, authorities said. Detectives Eric Evans and Alberto Valles were patrolling the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue near a school on Saturday, Nov. 11 at about 3 p.m. when they observed Tereen Fowler engage in a drug deal with another man, police said. A man seen on video racking a handgun outside Pennsylvania homes led to the recovery of three illegal weapons and felony charges, authorities said. A Sussex County man who was once stabbed in a biker bar brawl was sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for an assortment of illegal weapons and ammo found by authorities after he crashed his van.
