Woman Shot In North Philadelphia Home: Police A 49-year-old woman was shot once in the stomach in the living room of a Philadelphia residence Monday night, April 22, according to police.  Investigators said it happened on the 100 block of Linton Street in Olney around 7:40 p.m. The victim was taken to Einstein Hospital in critical condition, authorities said.  One person was detained in connection with the shooting and a weapon was recovered, PPD added.

Man Shot Dead Near Philadelphia's La Salle University, Police Say A 40-year-old was shot and killed just blocks from La Salle University in North Philadelphia on Wednesday night, April 3, authorities told Daily Voice.  Shots rang out on the 1700 block of West Olney Avenue around 8:45 p.m., PPD said. Officers responded to find the victim with a single gunshot wound to the "lower right stomach." He was taken to Einstein Hospital and pronounced dead just after 9 p.m., according to police.  No arrests have been made and no weapons were recovered as of Thursday morning, April 4, authorities said. The shooting remains under investigation.

4-Year-Old Girl Shot In Philadelphia: Police A 4-year-old girl was hospitalized with a gunshot wound in Philadelphia on Thursday evening, March 28, city police say.  Authorities said it happened just after 7 p.m. on the 2400 block of 79th Avenue. The victim was struck once in the abdomen in a bathroom at a residence, police said.  She was taken to Einstein Hospital where her condition is said to be stable.  Police said the weapon had not been recovered and no arrests had been made as of Thursday night.  The shooting comes just hours after a 3-year-old was fatally shot in Allentown.
