It all began around 7:30 p.m. Monday when a woman and a girl told police that Hidalgo Rivera, of Fountain Hill, wanted the girl to leave the home in the 800 block of North Clewell Street, the news outlet says.

Rivera then went out to his car, and re-entered the home with a gun, claiming he was going to kill the girl, reports say.

The victims hid in a third-floor closet while Rivera fired four shots, nearly killing them, the outlet says.

Rivera had already fled when police entered the home and found the victims, LehighValleyLive says.

He's facing charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and reckless endangerment, WFMZ reports.

He's expected to be taken to Lehigh County Jail after the end of his treatment at an area hospital, the outlet says.
