Jen-Chieh Sung, 20, is charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI and related offenses, according to authorities.
Police said the single-car crash happened on Tulpehocken Road near Berkshire Boulevard on Feb. 17. The 2019 BMW veered off the road and hit a tree on the shoulder, killing one passenger, officials said.
Others in the car were taken to Reading Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the release says.
Sung was arrested following an investigation, authorities said. Court records show he has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 20.
