PA Dad Shot Dead Outside His Home, Coroner Says

A Pennsylvania dad has died following a shooting on Thursday, Apr. 14, according to a release by the coroner's office.

Michael Denton, 42, of Hanover, was shot in "an altercation with another individual… outside of his home," the York County coroner's office states in the release.

Following the shooting, he was rushed from his home in Adams County to Wellspan York Hospital— where he was declared deceased at 6:44 p.m., according to the coroner's office.

His cause and manner of death will be officially released following an autopsy at Lehigh Valley Hospital on Friday, Apr. 15.

Deyton grew-up in Frederick, Maryland, was a 1997 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson high school, and previously worked at Utz Quality Foods, according to his Facebook profile.

He is survived by his family and friends, according to social media.

Funeral and memorial service details for Deyton have yet to be released.

Additional information about the shooting was not available as of Friday morning.
