Nearly 20K Without Power After Severe Storms Slam Pennsylvania
Nearly 20,000 homes and businesses remained without power across Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Sept. 2, after severe thunderstorms brought damaging winds, hail, and downed trees to the region.
About 19,500 customers were still in the dark early Wednesday afternoon, according to PowerOutage.us.
Chester County was the hardest hit in eastern Pennsylvania, with approximately 8,600 customers without electricity. More than 20,000 outages had been reported in the county earlier Wednesday morning as crews began repairing storm damage, CBS News Philadelphia reported.

Winter weather alerts have been issued across North Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania ahead of Tuesday’s storm, which is expected to bring several inches of snow and slippery roads during the morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Sussex County, where 4 to 7 inches of snow and snowfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour are possible.

Wild winds, large hail, floods, and possible tornadoes may roll through the region overnight, forecasters are warning.
