Berks High School Closes Early Amid Reports Of Shooting
Wilson High School dismissed students early on Friday, Feb. 24 after administrators received reports of an ongoing shooting. In an announcement posted to the district's website just before 9:20 a.m., district officials said they were notified by Spring Township police "that there was a shooting at Wilson High School." Berks County native and backup quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs Chad Henne is retiring. Henne, who is originally from Wyomissing, announced his stepping down in an Instagram post uploaded early Monday, Feb. 13, just a few hours after his team defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. 'Kind, Gentle Soul:' Lehigh Valley Native, Devoted Youth Baseball Coach Dies Suddenly At 20
Lehigh Valley native and dedicated youth baseball coach Michael James Leh died unexpectedly at his home in Easton on Friday, August 19. He was 20. Born in Bethlehem, Michael attended Wilson High School, where he graduated in 2020, his obituary says. After high school, Michael worked at Wilson Products in Palmer Township. He loved playing baseball and was a devoted youth coach in the Wilson recreational league, his memorial says.
