Several buildings have been evacuated due to a gas leak in Lancaster County on Thursday. The leak was first reported as a "fire incident" by Columbia Borough police around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. A gas leak closed Penn Square in Lancaster on Friday, July 7, 2023. All vehicle traffic at Penn Square was diverted north onto Queen Street, according to a post by the Lancaster Bureau of Police. The leak appears to have involved a boiler in the area of East King and North Duke streets in the City, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications.
