Driver In PA Crash Was Shot Before Collision: Authorities
The driver who was found dead on a Reading street after hitting a parked car early Thursday morning, Sept. 21 was killed by gunfire, authorities now believe. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at Reading Hospital after crashing into another vehicle on the 700 block of Schuylkill Avenue around 2 a.m., city police previously said. Investigators now say the driver suffered a single, fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Their manner of death was ruled homicide, police added. PA Driver Dies After Hitting Parked Car, Police Say
One person is dead after an early-morning car crash in Reading on Thursday, Sept. 21, authorities say. The driver hit a parked car head-on on the 700 block of Schuylkill Avenue around 2 a.m., according to police. First responders treated the driver at the scene and rushed them to Reading Hospital where they were later pronounced dead, RPD said. They have not been identified by police as of late Thursday morning. The crash remains under investigation.

The suspect who abducted a girl in Reading on Wednesday, Aug. 31 is the ex-boyfriend of the victim's mom, authorities have revealed. An 18-year-old man who fled the scene after gunning down a 19-year-old victim in Reading was in police custody as of Sunday morning, authorities said. Wilson Ventura-Cruz is accused of shooting the unidentified man on the 1400 block of Schuylkill Avenue around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, March 25, Reading police said in a release. Tractor-Trailer Driver Loses Control, Hits Cars In Reading
The driver of a tractor-trailer lost control while driving down a street in Reading (Berks County) Monday afternoon, authorities said. When crews arrived, they confirmed that a tractor-trailer hauling gas cylinders hit several parked cars in the 1200 block of Schuylkill Avenue, according to the Reading Fire Department. Fortunately, there were no injuries to the driver or any bystanders. No further information was available.
