UPDATE: An armed robber who stabbed a Keansburg police officer was shot and killed by police at a local drug store Thursday afternoon, authorities said. Multiple officers fired at the robber at the Keansburg Pharmacy in Keansburg Plaza on Main Street shortly before 3:30 p.m., Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, the attorney general said. His identity was temporarily being withheld. The officer was taken to Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has released video footage of a deadly police shootout that left a gunman dead in Long Branch. Mark D. Walker, 34, of Woodbridge, Va. shot a detective in the leg before barricading himself inside the Chelsea Avenue apartment Nov. 5, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. Suburban Philly Officer Fires Shot Through Car Window Of Driver With Firearm, DA Says
A police officer in the Philadelphia suburbs fired a shot through the window of car as the driver attempted to flee during a traffic stop, authorities said. An investigation later identified the driver as Takeshia Landry, of Ohio, who had a colt revolver firearm in her purse, Chester County DA Deborah Ryan said. A 34-year-old Chester County man is in critical condition after being shot in a police standoff Thursday in East Goshen, authorities said. Westtown East Goshen police received a call about a suspect who was having a mental health crisis and had threatened to shoot his mother and sister at a home in the 900 block of Cornwallis Drive, around 6:15 p.m., according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office. Authorities have identified a sword-wielding man shot and killed by police Tuesday night as a 27-year-old Pennsburg man.
