An elderly North Whitehall man was found dead in his home, leaving authorities searching for any trace of his family. William H. Chapin, 87, was found dead at his North Whitehall Township home on Friday, Oct. 18, at 1:17 p.m., the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office announced on Monday, Nov. 4. Chapin, who died of natural causes, had no next-of-kin identified at the time of his death. Family Grieves Loss of David Brown After Fatal Dump Truck Crash
The family of a North Whitehall Township man is grieving their loss following a fatal dump truck crash that took his life on Tuesday, Oct. 15. David A. Brown, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that happened when the dump truck he was driving in the 2700 block of Valley Road struck an embankment. Brown was employed as a machinist and mechanic at Nestle Purina, formerly ALPO, for 43 years before his retirement in 2022, according to his obituary from Heintzelman Funeral Home. Elderly Couple Dies In Murder-Suicide: Lehigh County Coroner
Officials are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in North Whitehall Township on Saturday, May 18, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Authorities said 78-year-old Harvey H. Hartung shot his wife, 79-year-old Carol A. Hartung, before turning the gun on himself. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Pennsylvania State Police and the District Attorney's Office are investigating, Coroner Daniel A. Buglio added.

Milliman was a passenger in a BMW headed north on Route 222 around 10:40 a.m., according to state police. The BMW was struck by a tractor-trailer when it turned left onto Kressler Road, rotating 90 degrees and coming to rest near the center median, troopers said. A Lehigh Valley woman is charged with making terroristic threats after an argument that began when a group of neighbors called her a "Karen," according to state police. An elderly woman who was crawling on a road in front of her Lehigh County home was pronounced dead Friday after she was struck by a car driven by a teenager, authorities said. Ethel M. Haas, 83, was crawling on the road in front of her Clearview Road home in North Whitehall Township when a 17-year-old boy driving a 2016 Honda Civic, struck her around 10:35 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The impact pushed Haas' body 15 to 20 feet before stopping near the fog line on the opposite side of the roadway, police said. Police did not identify the 17-year-old driver.
