A Pennsylvania family was mourning the death of a father and Hudson Valley native who was killed on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Colin Mahon of Newtown Square, PA, died in a chain-reaction crash in Cranbury, NJ, on Tuesday, Oct. 8, a New Jersey State Police spokesperson said. The father of three children was 40 years old, according to his obituary from Donohue Funeral Homes.
A GoFundMe page in Mahon's memory had raised more than $118,900 from at least 326 donations as of Monday, Oct. 14.

Trio Steals Thousands Of Dollars Of Beef From Tractor Trailer: PA AG
Three Philadelphia men were arrested as they were stealing 1,600 pounds of beef from a locked trailer in the city, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.
Douglas Mathis, 36; Jamir Scott, 25; and Tariq Duncan, 31, were seen Tuesday, September 24, 2024, wearing dark clothing and masks while breaking a lock on a trailer in the 7300 block of Edmund Street, the Attorney General's Office said. They were carrying 25 cases of beef valued at $7,000 from the trailer to their van.
Mathis, Scott, and Duncan were arraigned Sept. 24 with bail set at $200,000 each.

A 30-year-old Pennsylvania man standing along the side of the New Jersey Turnpike after a collision was struck and killed by a passing car early Monday, April 22, authorities said.
Alton Smith, of Levittown, PA, had bee driving a BMW 328i when he got into a crash with another BMW around 2:20 a.m. in Robbinsville, New Jersey State Police said.

A Burger King employee was stabbed and then hit by an SUV driven by her assailant at a New Jersey Turnpike rest stop, said authorities who charged a Trenton man with her murder.
Jamyra C. Odom, 22, of Trenton had just finished her shift when Dandre L. McDaniels Jr., 23, ambushed her at the Woodrow Wilson Service Area in Hamilton Township shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, the State Police said.
