A gas leak has led to an evacuation and traffic being diverted, Lancaster County authorities explained on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 6. The gas leak happened at the intersection of East Bainbridge and South Spruce in Elizabethtown at 2:25 p.m., according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. A woman has died following a fire at the historic building known as The Summy House. The fire broke out at the Summy House, 33 South Main Street, Manheim Borough at 5:07 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, according to borough police. The fire was in a second-floor room in the historic building that is home to 20 apartments and 22 residents, the police explained in a release that afternoon. An 18-year-old girl has been hospitalized after being struck in a crosswalk in Gettysburg, police announced on Friday. The Gettysburg College Student was crossing Washington Street at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue around 11 a.m. on Aug. 25.
