Hazleton Woman Killed In Fire: Lehigh County Coroner Says
A Hazleton woman's death was the result of a house fire, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office announced on Monday, Sept. 30.
Lisa R. Thompson, 59, was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest on Sunday, Sept. 29, according to the coroner. The cause of death is listed as Inhalation of Products of Combustion due to House Fire. The coroner ruled the death accidental.

Fatal Fire: Elderly Philadephia Woman Killed In House Fire, Police Say
An unidentified woman in her 80s died in a house fire on Wednesday, Sept. 11, authorities said.
At approximately 9:50 a.m., an Emergency-911 call was placed reporting a residential structure fire at 3500 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia police said.
Responding units arrived on the scene to find the property engulfed in flames, police said.
"An approximately 87-year-old female, identified as Jane Doe, was located inside the residence," police said in a press statement.
Despite efforts by emergency personnel, the woman was pronounced dead on the scene by Medic 57 at 10:24 am., police said.

Coroner ID's 2 Young Girls Killed In Hellertown PA Fire: (Update)
Two young girls were killed in a Hellertown house fire Friday, April 1, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to the 600 block of Linden Avenue just before 1 a.m., where they found the house engulfed in flames, officials said.
Abigail Kaufman, 10, and Brianna Baer, 15, were trapped in the blaze and later rescued by firefighters, but they died at St Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
An older man and woman escaped the blaze unharmed, LehighValleyLive reports.

PA Councilman Dies Of Injuries In Fire That Killed Wife Last Year
A Pennsylvania councilman died as a result of injuries sustained in a fire that killed his wife nearly a year ago, authorities said.
Thomas Highland, 61, was pronounced dead Friday, March 25 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said. His death was ruled accidental and caused by inhalation injuries sustained in the fire.
The fire broke out around 5:25 a.m. on May 30, 2021, in the 400 block of Center Avenue in Jim Thorpe, police said. His wife, Lynn was pronounced dead at the scene.
