Serial Bank Robber Who Nearly Killed PA Trooper Trying To Arrest Him Gets 25 Years
A serial bank robber who nearly killed a Pennsylvania State Police trooper trying to arrest him was sentenced to 25 years in prison, authorities said.
Christopher Larue, 44, was on supervised release after serving a 12-year prison sentence when he entered the QNB Bank in Perkasie brandishing a gun and robbing the bank of $11,000 on Oct. 19, 2020, United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams said.
Larue, of Lansdale, was convicted in 2009 of five additional bank robberies, the attorney said.

A central Pennsylvania man who built a bomb, "capable of causing death, serious bodily injury, and property damage," has been sentenced, according to the US Department of Justice.
Kevin Madziarek, 38, of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to serve 45 months in federal prison, according to a release on Monday by the USDOJ.
Madziarek was sentenced for unlawfully possessing a destructive device by United States District Court Judge Christopher C. Conner on Dec. 3, according to the release.

Jabin Godspower Okpako, 36, and his wife, Christine Bradley Okpako, 54, of Sayre, Pennsylvania, used three bank accounts in Nigeria to transfer funds out of the United States, prosecutors say according to the release.
